The BMW 2002Tii represents the technological zenith of the 02 Series. Its Kugelfischer high-pressure mechanical fuel injection system, a sophisticated piece of analogue engineering, liberated 130 bhp from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder, making it the most potent series-production 02 of its day. This 1971 example is a European-specification 'Roundie,' the round-taillight variant that enthusiasts particularly covet, and it retains the clean lines and lightweight character that BMW originally intended, unencumbered by US-market additions.
Finished in Malaga Red, the paintwork appears to have been recently refreshed to a good standard. The interior was sympathetically retrimmed in 2004 with retro grey fabric upholstery that suits the car's early-1970s character. Purchased from a dealer outside Paris in January 2026, the car was driven the 500-plus kilometres back to Hampshire and is reported to have completed the journey without fault. It was subsequently imported and registered on UK plates in July 2026, and holds a current MOT valid until January 2027. With service history accompanying the car and an engine that is reported to start and run well, this Tii offers a compelling opportunity to acquire one of the most highly regarded compact sports saloons of its generation.image.png1.81 MB
