The Appeal
With its muscular 2,500cc inline-six, Karmann-styled bodywork, and a rewarding driving character, the TR6 is a natural evolution of that no-nonsense formula that had made Triumph so synonymous with The Great British Sports Car, and for many enthusiasts, ranks amongst the best. It's a perennial classic, and is still more than capable of keeping up with today's traffic.
This 1972 example has been in the care of its current registered keeper for over 20 years, having been acquired in January 2005 from a classic car enthusiast who had previously restored the bodywork and repainted the car. During the current ownership, a comprehensive programme of improvements has been carried out, mostly by well-regarded classic specialists Maidstone Sports Cars. Work includes new polyurethane bushes throughout, electronic ignition with Magnecor leads, a stainless steel exhaust, new seats, a reconditioned overdrive unit, and upgraded H4 headlights with relays.
More recently, new tyres, a wire spare wheel, and a new fuel pump and filter were fitted in November 2025. The vendor states the car is in very good overall condition and that it runs and drives beautifully. A well-documented history file accompanies the car, covering its life from the first delivery service passport onwards.image.png1.62 MB
