Work carried out across the entire vehicle: bodywork, chassis, mechanical and interior
Interior completely refurbished with custom centre console
Highly sought-after BJ43 equipped with the robust Toyota Type B 3.0-litre engine
Difficult to find an example in comparable condition
The Story
The very year this remarkable Toyota BJ43 rolled off the production line, an identical example was selected by Thierry Sabine to carry out reconnaissance and support missions for the very first Paris-Dakar rally, an expedition of more than 10,000 kilometres across some of the most demanding terrain on the planet. Given Toyota's reputation for reliability and robustness, this choice was a natural one, and the vehicle proved more than equal to the task.
Presented in an elegant Sand Beige finish, this BJ43 is likely among the finest examples currently available on the market. The level of restoration is immediately apparent from the photographic record. Everything suggests that no aspect of the vehicle has been overlooked: chassis, running gear, mechanical components, bodywork, paint and interior have all undergone thorough restoration. The overall presentation is nearly as-new.
The BJ43 is today one of the most sought-after Land Cruisers by collectors, particularly because of its heritage linked to great off-road adventures. Opportunities to acquire an example restored to such a high standard are particularly rare. An opportunity not to be missed.1000055036 Sabine.jpeg357.57 KB

✓ VAT is included in the buyer's deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final offer or bid price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want the transaction to run smoothly, just as you do, and that's why vehicles registered in the UK and sold on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to verify that they have no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and are not subject to a financial charge, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as a result of a total loss at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide write-off category markers (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. The presence or absence of a marker does not, however, guarantee the status of the vehicle and it is always useful to carry out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
✓ Buyers are responsible for collection or delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles may incur additional customs duties and import taxes. If you wish, we can recommend a third-party transport company that can assist you. For more details and to speak to the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
