The Appeal
The Bentley Turbo R was a roaming billboard that sent quite the message, that Bentley was eagerly stepping into a new era. These were surprisingly imposing machines that felt cutting-edge and thoroughly modern, powered by a big turbo V8 and proudly touting a palatial interior. With its turbocharged 6.75-litre V8 producing enough shove for a claimed 0–60 mph time of six seconds, it was reputedly the fastest four-door sedan of its era.
This 1989 example is finished in the rare Brooklands green over a matching green leather interior; quintessentially retro and super-distinctive. It has been in the current owner's care for approximately seven years, during which time it has been used regularly on short trips to keep everything in good nick. A stamped service book records regular maintenance at Bentley main dealers and, more recently, at a local specialist.
