The Appeal

Born from a collaboration between SsangYong and Daimler-Benz, the Musso pairs a robust Mercedes-Benz 2.9-litre five-cylinder diesel engine with a Borg Warner five-speed manual gearbox and styling by Ken Greenley - the designer behind the Aston Martin Virage and Bentley Continental R. It was an immediate hit; sitting comfortably in contemporaries with the likes of the G-Wagon. The Musso even received a gold award at the 1994 IBCAM British Steel Auto Design Awards at the Birmingham International Motor Show.

This high-specification SE example, finished in Jasper Green Metallic, has been with a single owner since August 1996, having been supplied by R. N. Golden of Holmfirth. Garaged throughout its life, the factory paintwork retains a deep, uniform shine, with Greenley's lines proudly on display. Meanwhile, inside, the grey velour upholstery is said to be in very good order, with all equipment, gauges, and the Shift-on-the-Fly 2WD/4WD system reported as fully operational.

Reportedly accompanied by the original book pack, service book, both sets of keys, a file of invoices, and an original sales brochure, this well-preserved Musso is a particularly scarce, desirable cult classic off-roader with serious provenance under the bonnet.
