The Appeal
The 300 TDi is arguably the greatest engine Land Rover ever made. Offering far more performance than its predecessors, without the electronics of the Td5 and later units, the 300 TDi is blessed with immense longevity and, as such, remains sought after.
This 1997 Defender 90 Station Wagon has benefited from significant recent mechanical attention and annual servicing under its current owner, who has had the car since June 2023. The interior has been retrimmed in Exmoor trim fabric, and the vendor states it presents considerably better than the average Defender of this age. The exterior was repainted white around 2005 and, while not quite to factory standard, has held up very well over the past two decades.
