The Appeal
For just two years in 1998 and 1999, Jaguar offered XK buyers the option of one of the firm’s loveliest paint finishes. Sources suggest less than 0.5% of buyers opted for Amaranth Mica, a purple/mauve finish, and this very well-kept low-mileage car may be one of just 50 XKRs in this colour.
It’s a surprise to learn it’s so rare because our photos show just how good it looks. This low-mileage, 57,400-mile supercharged XKR is in very good order, including the usual X100 check areas such as rear arches and underside. The paint matches the Oatmeal leather cabin, trimmed in walnut, and shows only light wear typical of its limited use.
The vendor is only the car’s fifth keeper. The car was last serviced in March 2026, less than 200 miles ago, and the MOT runs to March 2027 with no structural advisories.
With interest in Jaguar’s X100 growing, here is a chance to acquire a very rare, nicely specified and well-maintained 400bhp example.
The vendor says:
“Drives like a dream I love the deep purple colour and the growl of the V8 engine.”
