The Appeal

BMW’s engineers realised that even when plutocarts reach the giddy heights of the boardroom, they still enjoy driving. That the E38 was as fun to drive as it was luxurious is what made this chiselled saloon so much better than its rivals. Those qualities are what make good 7-Series cars so collectible decades after production ended.

This 735i is likely one of the available examples. It is a very low mileage car whose condition is down to spending most of its life on Japan’s salt-free roads. It is well-specified too, featuring BMW’s dynamic M Sport package that sharpens up the handling even further.

The car arrived in the UK in 2018 and the vendor acquired it in the same year.
