The Appeal

2007 is a key year in the R230’s evolution, as it was when the SL500 finally got the power to match its svelte looks. The 5.5L M273 V8 lifted output to nearly 400bhp, yet these revised cars retained the original’s classic sweeping styling.

This 2007 example has covered just 38,200 miles, and we are told it has been garaged throughout its life. Sold new by a Mercedes-Benz main dealer in Llandudno Junction, it stayed local and was purchased by the current owner in 2021 from the very same dealership. We are told it was serviced by the main dealer from new until 2023, after which it has been attended to by a marque specialist using OEM parts. The last service was in September 2026 prior to sale, and the current MOT runs to September 2027 with no advisories.

The low mileage and few owners mean this is a very tidy SL500. The Bright Blue paintwork, AMG 19-inch five-spoke alloys, and grey leather interior all present very well. Recent cosmetic work includes repairs to the rear arches.

“Although nearly 20 years old, it looks, feels and drives like a modern executive car. The smoothest ride of any car on the road. The car benefits from a particularly strong maintenance history. Until 2023 it was maintained and serviced by a Mercedes-Benz main dealer, with servicing and maintenance since then entrusted to a respected specialist mechanic or Mercedes for genuine replacement parts (calliper, consumer battery, rear boot brake light, and boot soft-close motor). All receipts and paperwork are available, along with the original car handbooks, my purchase receipts, Mercedes main dealer inspection reports, and 2 original keys.
