The Appeal

2007 is a key year in the R230's evolution because it was when the SL500 finally got the power to match its svelte looks. The 5.5L M273 V8 boosted power to nearly 400 bhp, yet these revised cars retained the original's classic swept styling.

This 2007 example has covered just 38,200 miles, and we are told it has been garaged throughout its life. Sold new by a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Llandudno Junction, it stayed local and was purchased by the current owner in 2021 from the very same dealership. We are told it was dealer-serviced from new until 2023, after which it has been maintained by a marque specialist using OEM parts. The last service was in September 2026 prior to sale, and the current MOT runs through September 2027 with no advisories.

The low mileage and few owners mean that this is a very clean SL500. The Bright Blue paint, AMG 19-inch five-spoke wheels, and gray leather interior all present very well. Recent cosmetic work includes repairing the rear wheel arches.

"Although nearly 20 years old, it looks, feels and drives like a modern executive vehicle. The smoothest ride experience any car can offer. The car benefits from a particularly strong maintenance history. Until 2023, it was maintained and serviced by a Mercedes-Benz dealer, with servicing and maintenance since then entrusted to a respected specialist mechanic or Mercedes for replacement parts (caliper, auxiliary battery, rear trunk brake light, and trunk soft-close motor).
