The Appeal
The 997 didn’t have to mess too much with the 996 package because it was just so good. The new car got more power, going from 420bhp to 475bhp, reduced turbo lag, classic-style lights and dashboard and improved quality trim. The 997.1 led the move away from manual gearboxes by being the first Turbo that was quicker with the 5-speed Tiptronic as fitted here than with a manual.
This very low-mileage car is a really nicely specified car in a desirable colour scheme. The Porsche GT Silver has recently been accented with gloss black trim and a set of smart Fuchs alloys, while inside there is a well-kept red leather interior with red carpets and dash surround. Thanks to its mileage of just 20,300 miles, it is all in very good order and looks barely altered from new despite the passage of 19 years. The factory specification is generous, including the Sport Chrono Pack, Bose sound system, satellite navigation, cruise control, and xenon headlights.
The vendor tells us that the car has been maintained by Porsche throughout its life, with six services, most recently in 2023 at 20,039 miles by Porsche Tewkesbury. It will be sold with a fresh service and comes with an advisory-free MOT to September 2027.
