An excellent example of an increasingly sought after early MG B Roadster.
Resplendent in one of the best colour combinations of British Racing Green with black interior, the paintwork is very good and polishes to a deep shine while the original leather seats have been restored and are complimented by a new set of high quality carpets. A traditional wood rimmed steering wheel adds a sporting touch to the cockpit.
The MG has been well maintained and recent work includes the fitment of new rear springs with nylon bushes, new engine mountings, propshaft and UJs, a halogen headlight conversion and a new set of door locks. A carburettor service has been recently carried out and the tuning checked out on a rolling road.
A later, easier to operate hood is fitted which is in excellent condition while another concession to modern motoring is the fitment of inertia reel seat belts making it a very practical car. The twin 6 volt batteries have been replaced by a single 12 volt item which is another very sensible modification.
On the road the ‘B’ feels very taught and drives extremely well with the desirable overdrive working correctly and good synchromesh in the gearbox, while the stainless steel tailpipe gives that characteristic MG B rasp.
The car comes with a record of work carried out together with invoices going back to the 1990s and will be supplied with a fresh MoT, if desired.
Overall a very clean example of an early B and a car to enjoy right away.
