The Appeal
Even in regular B Series-engined form, the MGB is a superb car. V8 restomod treatment takes the formula to another level, combining the classic lines and open-air charm of the original with the torque of a Rover V8 and a host of modern mechanical upgrades. This example was comprehensively rebuilt in 2005 on a then-new Heritage body shell, providing a solid, corrosion-free foundation.
The specification list reads equally well: a rebuilt Rover SD1 V8 paired with a Mazda 5-speed gearbox via a Vitesse conversion, uprated front brakes with slotted discs, adjustable telescopic dampers all round, mechanical power steering, and an Offenhauser 360 intake manifold that crucially allows the standard bonnet to be retained, preserving the MGB's clean profile. Chrome bumpers, a stainless steel radiator grille, and M.G.O.C "Clubsport" alloy wheels complete the look.
Having been in the current ownership for a decade, this Roadster holds an advisory-free voluntary MOT valid until April 2027. The vendor notes a few minor cosmetic imperfections, including a small dent on the offside front wing, and advises that a service would be beneficial due to limited recent use.
