The Appeal

Some E-Types are preserved in a configuration close to original, whilst others benefit from improvements designed to make them easier to use in current traffic conditions. This 1968 E-Type OTS falls into the latter category, with several mechanical upgrades and an aesthetic conversion carried out during its restoration.
Built in 1968, it was originally a Series 1.5 E-Type. It was restored in 2017 and converted to a presentation inspired by the early Series 1. The bodywork was then repainted in dark blue and the interior completely retrimmed in Biscuit leather. The current owner acquired it in 2019 and states he has kept it in a heated garage when not in use.
The car also benefits from several mechanical modifications: Weber carburettors replacing the original SU units, five-speed manual gearbox, stainless steel exhaust and upgrades to the cooling, braking, suspension and ignition systems. The seller states he has used it for long journeys in France and abroad without encountering any mechanical issues, including in hot weather.
The car comes with matching chassis and engine numbers, a valid roadworthiness certificate and an inspection report. The odometer reads just 3,229 miles, or 5,196 km, but the seller notes that the total mileage is higher due to the five-digit counter.
