Could there be a more striking example of Jaguar’s V12 2+2 E-Type? Although not a matching numbers example, it has a comprehensive documentary history that will accompany the car. Finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with Black leather interior, it has the ultra-rare factory fitted electric sunroof, and runs on correct Jaguar Competition wire wheels with period-appropriate Dunlop SP tyres.
Subject to a partial restoration in 2005/ 6 by Classic Restorations with invoices around £43, 000 including paint, the car has been scrupulously cared for, fettled and improved by specialists E-Type UK and CMC. The V12 engine was rebuilt in 2009 and the notorious rear main oil seal was replaced with a modern equivalent. The profligate Stromberg carbs have been replaced with the SU conversion and the silky V12 pulls strongly through a Broadspeed 5-speed gearbox. KoolMat insulation has been fitted throughout the car to minimise noise from the road, and heat-seep from the engine which is cooled by Kenlowe fans. The exhaust has also been upgraded to the TT by AJ6 Engineering giving the V12 a superb sound. Invoices for a further £35, 000 over the last 10 years testify that this example is one of the finest driving 2+2 V12 types on the road today.
?Work has been previously carried out by Moss Jaguar where sections of the rear floorpan were replaced and a service was carried out.
XKE 200 is for sale with or without the cherished number plate. Less common but far more practical than the pricier OTS, it is rare to find a 2+2 V12 which has been worked on like this.
