The Mercedes was first registered in South Africa* where it spent most of its life until being imported into the UK in 2015. It has subsequently only had 2 owners since then.
The beautiful Grey paintwork presents very well indeed. It holds a good deep shine whilst the virtually unmarked tan leather interior compliments the car very well. To complete ‘the look’ the brand new set of “Whitewall” tyres that are newly fitted are striking.
This Mercedes 280SE comes with a box file full of invoices and photographic evidence of work carried out, all to keep this Mercedes in tip top condition. For enthusiasts it’s a wonderful bonus being able to read through all the related papers documenting the cars life, you will need half an hour to go through them all, we love it!
We also have a full book pack including the original stamped service book and various other items including an original sales brochure, which is quite a rare find.
On the road the car performs faultlessly. The 2. 8 fuel injected engine is smooth and responsive. The automatic gearbox changes gear effortlessly. When inside the car you get the feeling of how advanced the Mercedes 280SE was for its time, it feels luxurious and cavernous.

* South Africa doesn’t use salt on the road, so older cars from this part of the world tend to have better paint work and less rust than cars that spent their lives on UK soil.
