Classic 1990's Mercedes workhorse in smart silver with just 125k on clock.
I've owned this car since April 2013 - my second W124 Estate, and a great car again. It was purchased locally in Northern Ireland for use as an occasional long distance vehicle for ferrying various family members/ friends in as my usual work car is just too tatty now inside and out.
It's virtually immaculate inside, even drivers seat bolster isn't worn through. However, the bodywork whilst solid, is a bit scruffy. The usual rust spot aren't there at all - wings/ arches solid. There are various scratches and dents on a few panels - I suspect one of the previous two owners was just a bad judge of space due to the nature scratches/ light dents. The guy I purchased it from was a professional driver so it wasn't him!. Anyway I bought the car like this as I was more concerned that it would be reliable - and it has been. Previous owner used the car to do regular trips to France, so I'd no hesitation in purchasing despite scruffy appearance outside.
At present car is SORNED and has been since September 2013. It sits outside in my back yard with battery disconnected. Upon connecting to move car and take the pics, it started first go, no fuss, no smoke etc etc. It's not got any MoT but whoever is serious about buying, I can MoT the car so the new owner will have 12mths MoT. However, I'd want the potential owner to see and test drive car first.
In summary - this is a great car, reliable, solid as meant to be. It is scruffy on exterior and virtually immaculate inside. It drives superbly - straight and true. It's got a very good service history - stamped servicebook until very recently with receipts/ invoices.
I'm not looking big big silly money like a lot of sellers of W124s seem to want despite cars being in just average condition, so please don't haggle. It's an honest car at end of day.
