The Appeal
Powered by the reliable BMC C-Series 2.9-litre straight-six engine, the logic behind the MGC upgraded power plant was characterised by its balanced and smooth running delivery also gifting it a respectable power output enabling the car to reach 120 mph with an equally impressive acceleration. With a strengthened body shell, uprated brakes and suspension, along with 15” wheels to deal with the extra hike in power, the MGC is seen as something as an ideal and comfortable touring car and certainly on par with other prestigious British marques of the era with the added bonus of respectable maintenance costs. Offering all of the other advantages of the MGB, its rarity offers a novelty to what must be considered one of the most endearing sports cars in the world.
This well-restored example is a late 1967-built car, registered in 1968 to a well-known London-based MG dealer. Impeccably painted in Tartan red, it has also benefited from an engine rebuild, an interior renovation, and invoices for parts totalling £2,000 in value. With just 3 documented previous keepers this MGC ready to be driven and enjoyed.
