The Appeal
The long-wheelbase Land Rover Series III is among the most capable and versatile of Britain's most legendary 4x4, offering generous rear accommodation and load space along with familiar styling and capable, easy-to-handle mechanics. With seating for multiple passengers across its front bench and twin rear metal benches, this is a vehicle that has seen plenty of use, having made numerous trips to Scotland in support of Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions.
In the same family's hands since 1995, this Series III has enjoyed a fine working life. It has recently benefited from remedial welding underneath and a new battery, and carries a fresh MOT valid until September 2026. Originally blue, it has since been resprayed green, while the interior retains its utilitarian character with naturally worn black vinyl upholstery. The vendor notes that the vehicle is not currently starting, so some recommissioning may be necessary.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
