The Appeal
The W123 can reasonably lay claim to being peak classic three-box saloon. Few cars do handsome, understated and quality in quite the same way. Which likely explains why they remain so popular with enthusiasts.
That buoyant demand and solid values explain why this Classic White 230E received such a comprehensive restoration back in 2021. The work covered virtually every aspect of the car, from bodywork and paintwork to interior and mechanicals, including a full engine rebuild. It presents today in quite magnificent condition, the blue fabric interior with its Zebrano wood highlights being a particular draw.
Enthusiasts will note desirable period features like the ‘Mexican Hat’ alloys, manual sunroof and Blaupunkt sound system.
The vendor acquired the car last year and has clearly looked after it. It carries MOT to December 2025 with no advisories. That could be the car’s last test because it achieved HIstoric Vehicle status from April this year, making it tax and MOT exempt.
The vendor states it would be difficult to find a better example of this model. Looking at the photos, it would be hard to disagree.
