The Appeal
The Fiat Panda 4x4 is one of the most cherished small cars of its era: a compact, go-anywhere machine penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro and fitted with Steyr-Puch four-wheel-drive running gear. Most were used hard on mountain roads and rough terrain, which makes well-preserved survivors genuinely scarce. In Sweden, where the 4x4 commanded nearly 50 per cent more than the base Panda, just 202 were sold new, and dealers reportedly struggled to shift them.
This 1988-model example, first registered in November 1989, has covered just 10,750 km in over 36 years of life. Its first keeper, who bought it new, covered fewer than 3,000 km in a decade. The second keeper, a Fiat enthusiast, acquired it in 1999 from the original selling dealer and used it solely for car events and rallies. It was bequeathed to a third keeper in 2018, who kept it in storage without driving it, before the current vendor purchased it in July 2022.
The vendor describes the car as having a "true new car feel," reporting no dents, scratches, or signs of previous repair to the bodywork. The underbody is said to show no signs of wear, with additional undersealing believed to have been applied when new. The interior is described as looking unused, and the glass is reported to be without fault. Under the bonnet, the vendor states it is clean with no evidence of leaks.image.png1.78 MB
