THE APPEAL

The XJS is a car that rolled off the production line with some of the best options available for its time. Undeniably a true piece of British automotive history, that shall not be forgotten. Sporting the 5.3 litre V12, it’s the ultimate luxury classic grand tourer, and it’s presented in remarkable condition.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

Registered in 1988.
V5C present.
Extensive file documenting the history and work carried out to the vehicle.
Large mechanical expenditure over the years.
MOT present.
Plenty of previous MOT certificates.
Regular servicing.
Low miles. Suspected to be around 38-40K miles. At some stage the original clocks have been changed, hence the cars mileage counter reading 4K miles. Paperwork confirms this.

THE INTERIOR

Ivory leather interior presents beautifully.
Very good condition with very little wear to note.
Electric seats, available on both the drivers side and passengers side.
Heated seats, available on both the drivers side and passengers side.
Walnut veneer interior trim is presenting excellently throughout the vehicle with no degrading that we noticed.
Original Jaguar radio cassette player.
Electric windows.
Carpet, door cards and headlining are equally in great shape with no imperfections to report.
The overall interior of this XJ-S is unbelievable, considering the age and still offers a luxurious and prestige feel in the cabin.
We are informed that all the electronics are said to be working as intended.

THE EXTERIOR

Excellent example of an iconic grand tourer.
Presented in fabulous condition with very few blemishes to note.
Paintwork presents well with minimal damage and imperfections.
There are a few blemishes on the rear bumper to be aware of.
The sporty sweeping body lines make the XJ-S really stand out from the crowd.
Bodywork free from dents.
Body-panels are even and look straight.
Headlamps and taillights are free from sun damage and fading.
Headlamp wipers working as intended.
Model badges present.
Brightwork and trim looking fantastic with minimal pitting to note.
Glass and seals are in excellent shape.
Wheels on the XJ-S would benefit from a refurb as they are looking tired and showing their age.
Generally rust free, but we did notice some areas where the paintwork is starting to bubble.

THE MECHANICS

Highly regarded 5.3 HE V12
Automatic transmission.
Folder containing various receipts for servicing and other items.
Runs and idles well.
Jaguar uprated roll bar bushes fitted.
Uprated Spax springs with height adjustment.
Reported to drive well.
Full sized spare wheel.

SUMMARY

As time progresses, finding a clean, well looked after example of the iconic Jaguar XJ-S becomes a harder task. Thankfully, this example is one of the cleaner ones on the market at the moment, if not the one cleanest one. Of course there are a few age related blemishes but overall this is a truly stunning example, with both the exterior and interior looking just as good as it did when it rolled off the production line.
