Launched in 1998, the Sovereign was the ultimate luxury expression of the X308 XJ series – particularly in this long wheelbase form. Beautifully appointed with high quality wood and leather, and benefitting from a truly cosseting ride and potent V8 powerplant, it truly exemplified the traditional Jaguar “grace, space and pace” mantra.
Presented with a remarkably low indicated mileage and in overall very fine condition, this example is a remarkable survivor. - A crisp white coachline runs down either flank of the car
- The body panels look to be straight and sound, with neat lines and even shutlines all round
- We saw no evidence of corrosion or damage worthy of note
- All of the brightwork and badging wears a fine lustre and nothing seems to be damaged or missing
- The car sits on the original 16-inch alloy wheels, finished in shining silver paint with no kerb damage or lacquer peel we could see
- The wheels are wearing a pair of Pirelli Cinturato tyres to the rear and a set of Uniroyal tyres to the front
The Mechanics

Summary
The X308 is a much respected luxury saloon in any form – in long wheelbase ‘Sovereign’ form it’s a truly desirable and much rarer beast. When you consider this car’s fine condition and exceptionally low mileage, it makes it something very special indeed.
