The Appeal

From the R107 onwards, the R129 is synonymous with V8 engines, big, grumbling, powerful motors perfectly suited for American Interstates and European autoroutes. This is a car built around the idea of impeccable engineering, reliability and supremely effortless travel.

It’s clear that the first US keeper of this smart Brilliant Silver 1998 R129 loved those qualities because he kept it for nearly three decades. It was specified from the factory with upgraded grey leather and premium BOSE sound and remains very tidy and factory-correct inside and out.

In recent years the servicing has been entrusted to the same specialist, with the last service in December 2024. The car has covered around 800 miles since. This is a well-maintained, very tidy V8 R129 that looks perfect for summer touring.
