The Appeal
The E46 can lay reasonable claim to motoring perfection, coming as it did at the sweet spot where analogue engagement met technological innovation. The convertible adds four-seat versatility to the mix and is perfect for long-distance summer touring.
This early E46 is fitted with the 2.5L M52 straight six in 170bhp output, mated to BMW’s 5spd auto box. The sense of a comfy cruiser is reinforced by the high specification that includes full grey leather, electric front driver’s seat with memory and dark walnut veneers. The car is fitted with a recently serviced dark blue fabric roof and supplied with its matching factory hard top.
The vendor is only the third keeper and acquired the car in 2017. It has been used sparingly and was last serviced in 2024. Since then it has received the roof service in 2025 plus two rear tyres and full wheel alignment in 2026. The MOT runs to June 2026.
The vendor says:
“This is my wife's car, we use it whenever we go away for its comfort, performance and looks with the hood down. We are selling it because we are moving abroad very soon.”
