The Appeal
The X308 is the last of a certain type of Jaguar, one that can trace its history back to the 1970s and majors on the traditional style, wood-and-leather character, and, in the shape of the supercharged XJR, the visceral urge that made the firm’s 60s saloons so popular.
Here is a really well-kept and very tidy XJR in popular Carnival Red metallic with Ivory leather and walnut trim. The vendor describes it as ‘immaculate’, and it certainly presents well in the photos. It has been well maintained, too, with a run of servicing and other maintenance shown in the photos. The timing belt and water pump were replaced around 25,000 miles ago, and it was serviced 7,000 miles ago, including gearbox and supercharger fluids. The current MOT runs to April 2027 with no advisories.
As characterful as it is comfortable, the X308 XJR is one of the best super saloons of the last 30 years. Here’s a chance to sample a really good one.
