The XKR is the ultimate derivative of the original Jaguar XK8 sports car, and in soft-top form offers wind-in-the-hair appeal to go alongside its incredible performance, shrieking supercharger, gorgeous looks and wonderfully balanced chassis.
This example is an absolute corker – a low-ownership car in British Racing Green, with a matching green soft-top and magnolia leather interior, it’s not only a handsome example but also a well-maintained one that’s guaranteed to put a huge smile on your face every time you drive it – or just look at it.
It’s being offered for sale by an established Jaguar specialist who has been using it as his own car for the past four years and is reluctantly selling it simply because it doesn’t get used much.

The vendor acquired the XKR from one of his customers, who had owned it for over a decade.
He had previously kept the car at his second home in France and as a result it comes with a variety of invoices from a garage in Dinan, Brittany.
It also has several bills from the current keeper’s ownership for work carried out over the past four years. The vendor believes that the car has a post-Nikasil engine and that the cam chain and tensioners have been changed – the most important check for any 4.0 AJV8.
Inside, the XKR is as sumptuous and luxurious as you’d expect from any Jaguar – a rather distinct juxtaposition to the performance on offer.
The magnolia-coloured leather is in excellent order with minimal wear – only some minor creases on the driver’s seat – and the carpets and dealer-fit Parchment over mats are in excellent order.
All of the dials and switches operate as they should, including the fully folding electric roof, while there’s also a leather tonneau cover to match the interior colour theme.
The XKR looks fantastic in its British Racing Green colour scheme, with smart 18-inch alloy wheels that really set off its subtly sporting appearance.
The panels are all straight and dent-free and there are no rust bubbles in any of the usual areas, such as the rear wheel arches and trailing edges of the sills. The underside of the car is described by the vendor as very solid.
This is the full-fat real deal – a genuine XKR, with a supercharged 4.0-litre V8 kicking out 370bhp. It runs sweetly and sounds absolutely incredible, the shrill whistle of the supercharger accompanying the eager rush of acceleration between each gear.
It really is a fast and responsive car, yet despite the incredible performance on offer it still retains Jaguar’s traditionally cossetting ride.
This is a really smart and genuine example of a 4.0-litre XKR and is in lovely order inside and out.
Add in the scintillating performance on offer and the terrific combination of comfort and performance and you have one of the best modern classic grand tourers that money can buy.
It’s a lovely thing, and in terrific condition throughout.
