The Appeal

996 was the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant change to the 911 model since its 1963 introduction, namely the introduction of the water-cooled engine. Noise regulations, emissions concerns, and a new high-performance, four-valve six cylinder engine had necessitated the change to water cooling. A redesigned interior enclosed in a fresh, sleek body with a more steeply raked windscreen completed the package.

This fine Cabriolet example, resplendent in Metallic Black with matching black full leather interior is in nice overall condition, driving beautifully and ready for immediate enjoyment. Complete with a removable hardtop, it transforms into a snug Coupe for the winter months.

Summary

Frowned on by Porsche aficionados when first introduced due to its water cooled engine, the 996 is now recognised as a great driver’s car, truly in the spirit of earlier 911s. Despite its great driving characteristics it remains a bit of a bargain! With a deep lustre to its black paint, and a nicely aged full leather interior this 996 is a particularly attractive example. It drives beautifully, looks gorgeous and sounds impressive.
