THE APPEAL
The Ferrari 458 Italia received a rapturous reception when it was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, and for a very good reason.
Not only was it a close copy of the Millechili concept car, but it was also the most technologically advanced V8 Ferrari ever made.
This one is a 2010 example, supplied new to an owner in Scotland. It’s in superb condition and it has a comprehensive service history, most recently tended to by a well-known Ferrari specialist in Hertfordshire earlier this year and just a handful of miles ago.
Interested parties should be aware that the vehicle is a Category S damaged repairable vehicle on the insurance register and has been professionally repaired and structurally inspected. UneduCkggAa15i3InQTMxNwiIRNKEBpCvJkaAu9W.jpeg1.44 MB

It’s surprisingly spacious inside the 458 with room for even the largest or tallest of drivers to get comfortable.
Once inside, it’s a real spectacle, from the F1-inspired steering wheel to the high-tech switchgear. The indicators are controlled by buttons on the steering wheel, the gears by flappy paddles, and there are separate display screens with multi-adjustable functions.
It’s essentially a bit of a toy shop in there, but if you like your gadgets you’ll love it.
The dash and seats are trimmed in immaculate black leather with red stitching, while the car’s various drive modes are controlled by a toggle switch on the steering wheel.
Finished in Ferrari Rosso Corsa, or Racing Red, the 458 totally looks the part. It’s in stunning order with no flaws to the panels or paintwork, and there’s no evidence of the past accident damage, which has been repaired to an exceptional standard by a professional coachbuilder.
The 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are wonderful, but the most mesmerising part of the car is its translucent engine cover, through which you can just stand and admire the craftsmanship of the work-of-art V8.
There’s something intoxicating about a V8 Ferrari and the soundtrack this car offers is part of that immersive, spine-tingling experience.
Press the F1-style starter button on the steering wheel and you’re met by a gurgling, crackling V8 that pops and warbles as you prod the throttle.
Open it up and… wow! This is an incredibly quick machine, but it’s the exhaust note and sound of that big V8 just behind your left ear that truly make you feel alive. It’s wonderful – and blisteringly fast.
The copious power is fed to the rear wheels vis a semi-automated seven-speed Getrag gearbox which (pub quiz anoraks take note) is shared with both the Mercedes-Benz SLS and the Iveco Daily delivery van.
The latter is rarely shouted about but it’s a fantastic gearbox.
The 458 has been impeccably maintained and runs beautifully, the carbon ceramic Brembo brakes keeping the rampant horsepower in check, with amazingly direct steering and tenacious levels of grip.
Make no mistake, this is a very desirable car indeed.
It’s presented beautifully and has been repaired to an exceptional standard by a highly reputable body repairer with no expense spared.
It wants for nothing, other than to be thoroughly enjoyed and cherished.
