If there ever was a name synonymous with class style and raw power, it would have to be Maserati. Each car, an exquisite coalition of flowing lines, quality materials and a thumping great Italian motor at the front. The Quattroporte we see here, is of course no exception to this notion. 

The Quattroporte can be seen as two cars, both a luxury long distance cruiser, and at the request of the driver and their right foot, an excellent dynamic performance car.

The Maserati’s beautifully sculpted interior is in truly remarkable condition. The high quality cream leather presents in wonderful order, still fresh and full of colour, the seating both front and rear highlights very little in the way of wear, with strong bolstering and excellent contrasting embroidery and piping. What stands out here, is the sheer levels of comfort and space not only in the front, but the rear of the cabin, an absolute highlight of the Quattroporte. 

Front and centre sits the two tone leather dash piece, presenting in an equally good standard. Housed within, is the factory Maserati infotainment system, the various switchgear and central screen which make it up are in great order and are all reported to function fully. At the sides, we find four excellently trimmed leather door panels, finished with smart carbon fibre trim and a wonderful set of Bose speakers which make up the factory fitted Bose surround sound system. 

The cabin Quattroporte is without a doubt a marvellous place to be, from every angle signs of the exquisite Maserati craftsmanship can be seen. This really is an ideal car for utter unadulterated comfort and luxury.

Of course Maserati’s styling prowess has never been something to question, the marque is certainly one that values excellent aesthetics, and naturally there were no exceptions made with the Quattroporte. Truly a fine automobile, this Quattroporte is further refined courtesy of a redesigned grille and great 20” alloy wheels as this is the rarer, upgraded GTS Sport Line variant of the model. 

Specced in an ominous black hue from the factory, the Maserati presents in wonderful shape. The paintwork still exudes a deep glossy shine and the aforementioned 20” alloy wheels have benefitted from a refurbishment and recent fitment of new tyres and really give the car a sportier more aggressive stance from the outside. There are some minor imperfections to be seen in areas of the car, most notably a small dent on the driver’s side front wing, some cracking on the front bumper and some blemishing to the paint on the rear bumper.

The magnificent flowing lines of the Quattroporte, sculpted with the aid of legendary design house Pininfarina, are in good standing and present straight and true, the panel gaps all appear to be of an equally good standard and the various trim, badging and glasswork is in excellent shape.

The beating heart of any Maserati is always something of a show piece. The company's legendary V8 engines are idolised for their brutish sound and raw power. There's nothing quite like them. 

Under the bonnet of the Quattroporte GTS we find a wonderful example of Maserati’s 4.7 litre V8 engine, boasting a reported 433bhp and an impressive 7100rpm, its clear to see the focus was of driving performance with the GTS. Having benefited from regular maintenance at the hands of Maserati specialists this example is in wonderful mechanical order, and with further improvements to the transmission and chassis over the standard Quattroporte, it provides an incredible sporty drive, whilst somehow keeping the occupants refined and in absolute comfort. 

Of course, one can’t write a piece on any Maserati without acknowledging the lustrous V8 engine note. As to be expected, it's something of an 8 cylinder symphony, and a noise that could never be tired of. 

Being such a well maintained example, the Maserati flew through its recent MOT with ease. The only advisories, indicating the tyres were getting low on tread, have been resolved with the previously mentioned replacement tyres fitted to the car under its current ownership. 

In the Quattroporte GTS, one has something of a multi tool, a performance car, a long distance tourer, and an art piece. 

This is an incredibly clean example of a high specification model from one of Maserati’s finest hours, maintained to a high standard by Maserati specialists and full to the brim with equipment and technology.

Maserati’s are certainly more of a rarity on the roads and a Quattroporte GTS is the epitome of that notion. The Quattroporte is a statement car, reserved for the select few that recognise a true quality automobile.
