The Appeal
A favourite with the rich and famous, the G55 AMG is a boxy SUV that doesn’t do anything by halves. It’s huge, it’s powerful, and it’s fitted out with just about the best that Stuttgart’s famous carmakers have to offer. From their big windscreens to the lashings of leather, there’s little doubt that they’ve gained a reputation as a truly elite piece of rugged machinery.
This example comes to us in good order, having lived much of its life in the dry environment of Abu Dhabi. As a result, it’s lived a charmed life in its natural environment - leaving it in fine fettle for the future owner.

Despite the car’s rugged outer appearance, the G55 AMG is built as a luxury car first and foremost. The interior of these brash vehicles are designed with a plush, high-grade leather trim with poplar wooden veneers and plenty of lacquer.
The seats are showing some signs of wear, with a gentle cracked patina beginning to gather on the bolsters, but look to be in solid order. The bright popular trims and accents contrast beautifully against the black leather dashboard wrap, the velour carpets look practically undisturbed, and the Alcantara headlining looks to be in great condition.
The impressive options are in good working order, according to the vendor, from the air-conditioning to the ambient lighting, surround sound and DVD player. The instruments are clear and easy to read, while the poplar-trimmed multi-function steering wheel is a real eyecatcher.
Round the back, the luggage bay is in perfect order with velour carpets looking clean and well-kept.

Big, bold and boxy, the G55 is a luxury military wagon that’s equally at home in desert landscapes as it is the wealthy, winding roads of LA. Nothing here is built for subtlety, which is just as well - why would you want a G55 if you don’t intend to show it off?
The bright white paintwork looks to be in good order, with no chips that we can discern, and no signs of bubbling or blistering. We can’t spot any signs of corrosion to the vehicle throughout, and the body panels all seem as well-fit as they were rolling out of the factory.
The AMG trim appears, however, to have lost its coating in numerous places and now appears in an off yellow, with what looks to be glue residue. Also, a previous owner appear to have put a ‘G63’ badge on the rear.
The headlight lenses and stainless steel accents also present very well, and the car is sitting proudly on a set of graphite 19” AMG LA Wheels, shod in what appears to be a good set of tyres.
Underneath, the car is reportedly in good order - which would fit its charmed life in the hot, dry environment of Abu Dhabi.
The Mechanics

It’s clear that this G55 has wanted for nothing - the engine bay is beautifully presented, with lashings of branding and the V8 engine clearly on display. The vendor is pleased to report no faults with how the car is running.
