The Appeal
The JK Wrangler stuck to rugged body-on-chassis format that made the original Willys so dependable. This 2008 example has taken this many steps further to create something that feels perfectly suited if Armageddon occurs.
It began life as a plush Sahara model and is fitted with the most powerful 200bhp 3.8L V6 engine. Now finished in menacing black with an array of upgrades like the grille, wider arches, massive 20in A/T wheels and tyres and bonnet scoop that make it one of the most distinctive JKs that we’ve seen in a while. It’s been heavily lifted and features high-performance FOX suspension.
We are told that it remained in Japan, enjoying the nation’s salt-free roads, until 2024, when it was moved to Poland. It carries Polish registration and technical inspection valid until December 2026. Since arriving in Poland, it has been extensively serviced by an American car specialist. That work included filters, oil, a new battery, an alternator, and an air conditioning compressor. A new soft top has been recently acquired and is included, still in its box.
Wherever the road and, perhaps, the political headwinds blow, this pumped-up JK looks ready.
