Description
This Triumph TR6 was ordered new in Signal Red, with a Matador Red interior. A colour combination rarely seen on a TR6. Titled on the name of the 2nd owner, the red sports car is in need of a body-off restoration.
The body has been repainted in the past. Bondo was used on top of the rear body seams and the sill panels were covered up with oversized galvanised steel. Hence, everything will need to be stripped down to bare metal and properly restored.
Being a car from the US Midwest, the chassis frame shows rust damage and needs to be stripped down and repaired. It is restorable though, with typical rust damage to the breast plate, both rear suspension outriggers and some of the lower frame metal on the right hand side.
The interior is in original condition and will need partial or complete reupholstery work. 52. 474 mls on the odometer.
A complete rebuild is required for the engine, since it is blocked from years in storage. The car has a standard 4-speed gearbox.
This complete and largely original TR6 is a great base for restoration.
