Lada Niva 4x4
The Lada or Vaz as it is know in its native country, is a compact 4x4 vehicle which has been in production since the late 1970’s. These vehicles are renowned for there off road capabilities, with a Low/ High selector and also locking differentials, there aren’t many places this things can’t go.
Proved recently on our new You Tube Channel where we review this Niva and also take it on an Adventure to the Carpathian mountains !! Where really shows it’s off road abilities (on a mountain road with a fair amount of snow about)
We bought the car from a man called Sasha from the suburbs of Kiev, Ukraine, who’s family had the car from new!!
This car has always been garaged, well maintained and loved by his family. It became surplus to them with a growing family, though it was only used as a second car anyway.
This particular model is a very Rare “Export” Model or “Taiga” meant for export but the family had connections at the Vaz Factory (Lada Factory) and managed to get hold of this straight off the production line!
It is a 2004, 1. 7 carburettor, It runs like a dream and evens starts with ease at -12 !! Only covering 94, 750 miles (152, 500 KM) from new. The Niva was fitted with an 50 litre LPG tank from the factory! Which makes this little beauty very economical to run. It also benefits from a full respray a couple of years ago.
We have just had the engine completely rebuilt, The Block was sleeved and New original size pistons were fitted, Alogn with a band new Head. The engine has had all new gaskets too and a recent full serviced carried out by a 4x4 Niva Specialist. Inc Cam belt, Water pump, Thermostat and an oil & filter change.
It has a Bluetooth Stereo, electric windows and new Thatchams category 1 Alarm system
This is truly an iconic vehicle and with the arrival of the 2021/ 2022 brand new Lada Niva 4x4 they will be getting a lot more attention, which is rightly deserved.
The car was driven back from Kyiv 2 weeks ago and it drove perfectly! The engine is perfect and was amazing in +35 degrees.
I have driven this car in the most extreme conditions, Up a Mountain in Ukraine in -20 and driving through Poland this year at Plus +35 ... it is honestly such an amazing robust vehicle.
