This smartly presented MGB Roadster is one of the rare and desirable early pull handle models. 607 LAA is an original UK car that spent over 15 years with one owner in West Yorkshire and has more recently been owned, improved and detailed with one of our long term customers. The MG was initially used for long distance touring and was regularly driven up to Scotland for classic touring holidays.
The MG has in recent years been subject of some major re-commissioning work and receipts total over £8, 000. Work includes new front brake discs and pads, new handbrake pads and pivot arms, new steering rack, new carburettor floats, new thermostat, fuel pump, re-conditioned radiator, door barrels, new boot lock, new headlight units, re-conditioned dynamo and the gearbox has been removed and fully rebuilt, the overdrive unit rebuilt and thr clutch replaced. The MGB has also been fitted with a brand new hood, new steering wheel, mud flaps, new rocker cover and new set of chrome wire wheels.
The MG has come to us with a lovely clean bodyshell with straight panels, superb fitting doors and very good panel alignment. The body was restored over fifteen years ago and is in excellent order with a clean underside. Around two years ago the MGB was treated to a full re-paint and is presented exceptionally well with a gleaming, high class paint finish. Chrome work is very smart, wire wheels are as new and the MG comes with a Bermuda hard top. The interior is smart, useable and boasts Black leather seats, a smart set of carpets and door cards.
On the road 607 LAA performs very well with a good, strong healthy engine holding good oil pressure. The MG starts and runs superbly and drives very well with impressive performance. The four speed manual gearbox changes up and down smoothly with excellent synrochesh and the overdrive comes in and out smoothly. The B handles well and is a pleasure to on the road.
