This low mileage, superbly presented low mileage Targa top Toyota MR2 MKI was first registered on the 26th February 1988 and supplied new by Highfield Motors (Cartest Ltd) in Kenilworth to Airside Ltd in West Bromwich. The car has covered just 63, 000 miles from new and has been driven to us from Driffield, coming to us in part exchange against another modern classic. The last owner, an East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club member has owned the car since 2010 and has taken the mileage from 49700 to 63000.
Since purchasing the car in 2010 the MR2 has had typical classic car good weather use and has proven a true delight to own. The car has proven to be completely reliable, great fun and has not required any major expenditure. Receipts in the file detail a new timing belt at 53647 miles, new suspension bushes two years later, new stabiliser link rods and a new stereo system. The last owner has enjoyed hassle free motoring and this exceptional example has clearly been garaged its entire life and meticulously maintained.
Our Toyota MR2 is superb to drive, the engine is strong, fit and healthy, the gearbox excellent and it handles, steers and brakes superbly. It's feels precise, tight and is great fun with impressive performance from the 1587cc engine. The interior is beautifully presented, largely original and has clearly never been left to deteriorate. Its clean, smart and unbelievable for over 30 years old. The bodywork is excellent with straight panels, no rust issues and nicely aged paintwork. E501 LVC is a very impressive example that is ready to use and enjoy. Low mileage, UK supplied, unmolested examples are not easy to come across so this is modern classic should prove a great buy.
