There are a myriad of American muscle cars that are completely unknown to the general public on this side of the pond but, thanks in most part to cultural touch points from the big and small screens, the Dodge Charger is certainly one known to us all.
This remarkable 1968 R/ T 440 is a rare matching numbers car with an amazing spec that lived with its original owner for 40 years before being bought and refreshed by the second owner, from whom we acquired the car.
Having spent most of its life in a dry climate, the bodywork has miraculously never been replaced or welded. It has, however been treated to a fresh coat of Sunfire Yellow paint as part of a much larger refresh of the car.
The entire car was stripped, everything was refreshed, repainted and rebuilt, including that mammoth of a V8 with a capacity of no less than 440cu. That’s 7. 2 litres to you and me!
A host of upgrades were fitted at the same time, too, including fuel injection, new upgraded headers, an upgraded steering system and overdrive, also. In total, approximately €80k was spent on making this car what it is.
