HERE is a truly delightful 1972 Humber Sceptre, a manual/ overdrive model in Spice with Vellum coloured upholstery. Remarkably, her first owner bought her in April 1972 for £1380 and kept her until less than a year ago. He lavished love and care on this Humber and that is the reason that it remains in such outstanding condition today. There are added bonuses such as a hand written note book detailing every journey ever undertaken between new and 1986. It may be assumed that he drove it rarely after that and that the car was doubtless dry stored. It was re-commissioned by its second owner just this year.
She has excellent panel and paint work and a superb interior with great seats and of course the signature Humber wooden dash and door cappings. Her engine bay is in super condition too. A top of the tree 70s Rootes Group model when they were still Humbers and not Chryslers. An excellent driver with that tried and tested 1725cc unit and overdrive on 3rd and 4th. An opportunity not to be missed.
This is a classic car. It is 48-years-old. Please do not attempt to compare or measure it by a new BMW. I can provide more photos on request and am available to discuss the vehicle in more detail should you require. Doubtless it will have had repair work over the years and, like most, will probably need more in the future. If classic (antique) cars with all their quirks and problems do not put a smile on your face, then by all means go to a garage where they specialise in new and modern vehicles. They have plastic panels, engines that the driver cannot make head nor tail of when opening the bonnet and they all look pretty much the same. Live in the past; drive in the present and hang the consequences!
I accept debit cards and bank transfers. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. the details below).
