Known by many as the 'Business Man’s Express' the Bristol 404 was the perfect balance between speed and luxury. This example is no exception. Striking red paint immediately catches the eye with distinctive bumpers and air vents only adds to the rarity and style of this small sports car.
The interior is furnished with the standard wood veneer on the dash with cream leather interior showing age but in good shape. This car goes very well in all gears and has a beautifully throaty sound to the 2 litre engine underneath the bonnet. This car is fitted with overdrive making it much nicer for modern day driving.
Originally this example was dispatched to ‘Est R Mannes, 40 Rue de France, Brussels, Belgium, ref the Brussels show in January 1955. The exterior was finished in Reef Blue and Glacial Turquoise interior which must have made it a striking show car. Having not sold this 404 returned to Filton. On the 11th of May 1955 it was dispatched to Bradburn and Wedge Ltd, ref. Mr James Archdale the first owner.
The car has undergone a full service courtesy of Marque specialists Spencer Lane Jones and comes with a very extensive history file spanning back throughout all of the owners of the vehicle. This car can be traced throughout its life which is a bonus for any history buffs.
