MG TD Replica Kit Car by Fiberfab
Fiberfab were an American kit-car company founded by Warren Goodwin, a sports car driver and keen fisherman. He also contributed to the steam land-speed record attempt.
The MG TD replica was introduced in 1977 based on the VW Beetle chassis with the objective of building an authentic, high quality replica that could be built easily by the home builder…. all these targets were achieved .
Converted in 1994 our car has only had two owners in the last 23 years. Based on a 1967 1500cc Beetle the car presents remarkably well with nicely proportioned lines that mirror the original TD - the car is often mistaken for the genuine article until fired up and the air-cooled soundtrack kicks in.
The body presents very well & mechanically the car starts first time and is an excellent drive with no untoward smoke or noises. The interior reflects the DNA that Warren Goodwyn desired with suicide doors, wood dash and old style switchgear and seats. The previous owner loved the car, never used it in the rain, always kept it well maintained and it simply gave him immense pleasure for many years and was only sold to make space for a genuine TF
We have both used this remarkable little car for the last two weekends travelling well over 100 miles. It is an absolute joy that provides a different route into the air-cooled scene or, for us, simply a car to be owned for the pure fun of driving.
