1983 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
This beautiful pre-facelift R107 500SL is finished in Silver Blue with matching hard-top and contrasted by a navy blue leather interior and navy hood. A very elegant combination.
Being pre-facelift model, it has its correct grey lower half and boot spoiler, identifying it as a 500.
Purchased by the current owner’s father in September 1989, this SL has been in the same family ownership for over 27 years, passing from father to son in 2004.
As a second car it has had continuous but sparing use as a weekend car and covered just 86k miles from new.
The history file contains all its original books/ manuals/ tools and a full service history from new with 24 services recorded and a folder of receipts covering the last twenty years.
Having been in one family’s ownership since it was six years old, this SL is in completely factory specification, right down to the original Blaupunkt stereo.
We have just carried out a substantial refurbishment, whilst at the same time preserving the car’s lovely originality. Thanks to always being garaged, we found the body-shell to be in superb original order with a corrosion-free original bulkhead and excellent underside.
It is now time for a new owner to enjoy and look after this lovely, early 500SL, so it’s on the market for the first time since 1989.
