The Appeal

If we could transport back to the Britsh countryside of the immediate postwar years then Ferguson’s innovative TEA-20 would be everywhere. 500,000 ‘little Grey Fergies’ left the Standard works between 1946 and 1956, helping farms to mechanise and modernise, helped by clever features like the three point hydraulic linkage.
The TEA-20 arrived in 1947 with Standard’s 2.1L 4cyl petrol engine. This modern, robust motor makes this model particularly sought after by collectors. This 1948 example is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long while, thanks in large part to a comprehensive restoration by tractor enthusiasts and experts.
The vendor acquired the tractor as a restoration project in 2018. Initial work was undertaken by a local tractor mechanic who fitted new rear tyres, radiator, hoses, battery and exhaust. It was then sent to John Webb Historic Tractors for recommissioning, generating a long list of work that included a mechanical overhaul and respray in correct grey. He also converted the tractor to more reliable 12V electrics and serviced the engine and gearbox.
The tractor retains its desirable original fittings such as the brass plate, welded serial number, steering wheel, gauges, and accessory box. It has been certified by Duncan Russell, the Ferguson guru, and authorised by The Ferguson Club. Sparingly used since completion, it is ready to wow onlookers at shows.
The vendor says:
“Just a wonderful fully restored tractor of historic significance with a great history that has been certified by Duncan Russell a legend in Ferguson World and authorised by The Ferguson Club. It's an easy drive has a new tow hitch and is ready for any Tractor or Historic Vehicle Show.”

The vendor says:
“I acquired this TEA 20 in 2018. I bought it as a running vehicle but requiring a lot of work to get it up to full working order. At first i thought I'd use it as a static machine to be used in Photo Shoots but then I fell in love with it and began a labour of love and many economic 'discussions' with my partner! You won't be surprised who prevailed in the long run, hence my beautiful and beautifully restored tractor is for sale. To say everything has been done is an understatement. My local mechanic fitted new, rear tyres, the radiator and all the hoses, He cleaned out the gearbox, engine oil, converted it from 6V to 12V, fitted a new battery and added a new exhaust, then we sent it to John Webb who did this work in Beech Hill Tractors.”
