The Appeal
Introduced at the close of WW2 as a common man's car, the Beetle's utilitarian nature and air-cooled simplicity offered generations of driver and accessible, easy-to-handle avenue onto the roads. As a result, it became an icon of free-spirited youth culture and has gone down as one of the most iconic, recognisable cars ever built. They remain remarkably popular.
This particular car has been in the hands of its current owner since around 2000, having been purchased from a work colleague. Previously used as daily transport, it benefits from a comprehensive mechanical overhaul carried out in late 2021, with very little mileage covered since. The bodywork would benefit from some cosmetic attention, presenting an opportunity for a new custodian to bring the exterior up to the same standard as the mechanicals.
