THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK
The present owner imported the car in January 2019 from South Africa, and has all the relevant paperwork to hand. This particular Alfa is a right hand drive rust-free example, purchased from an Alfa Romeo enthusiast. The car was manufactured in January 1975 and has historical vehicle status. The car is Tax and MOT exempt. The present owner is torn to let it go, but needs to fund another project! The speedometer is original and displays kilometres per hour not miles per hour.
THE INTERIOR
- Classic Italian design
- Quality black leather seats
- Fully functioning original dashboard
The black leather interior was completely restored four months before the car was imported to the UK from South Africa and looks absolutely stunning with no wear, tears or damage. The dashboard and steering wheel are all original and very good condition for the age of this car. The passenger door needs attention, as it will only open from the inside. Also the driver side window mechanism doesn’t seem to work, and the glass panel needs to be pulled up by hand. The boot release also needs to be addressed.
THE EXTERIOR
- Eye catching sporty look
- Great conversation starter
- Real all round road presence
- Nankang NS-2R tyres all round
- Professionally undersealed
The present owner has spent more money on the mechanics of this car rather that the cosmetics as you will notice from the pictures. Overall the car is sound and solid, but could do with a visit to a good bodyshop for a full respray and detail if the new owner decides to go down that road. The original chrome front and rear bumpers have been removed from the car, but will be included in the sale. The tyres are in good condition and grip the road very well. It comes fitted with four Nankang NS-2R tyres. The car has also been professionally undersealed.
THE MECHANICS
- Fully upgraded mechanically
- Many new parts fitted
- Full new wiring system and looms
- Brakes completely re built all round
- Twin weber carburettors with trumpets
The vehicle has had a full mechanical upgrade from Arch Angel speed shop in Linlithgow, Edinburgh. The engine is in very good condition mechanically, and has been regularly serviced with good compression across all four cylinders. In the space of three years, the car has only covered around 6000 miles, very light use. The car has been used for the occasional highland road trips. The following is an example of recent works carried out:
- Alfaholics fast road suspension package, rear shock turret extenders fitted stage 1KTC
- The brakes have been overhauled all round, new discs, callipers, pads all sourced from Classic Alfa
- A new electronic fuel pump has been fitted to the car making cold start issues a thing of the past! Also a new brake servo system has been fitted
- A brand new radiator had been fitted to the car
THE SUMMARY
This is an amazing opportunity to own a recently upgraded collectors car, which is also an appreciating asset. It sounds fantastic with its twin Weber Carbs with its trumpets. This Alfa is a real head turner and conversation starter!
With its iconic Italian design there is a huge fan base worldwide, and parts are easily accessible from Alfaholics and Classic Alfa.
