The Appeal
The Type 2 Volkswagen is amongst the most usable classics you can buy. From April to October you will see hundreds of these vans thrumming up and down the M5 loaded with families and camping equipment.
This left-hand drive example was imported by the vendor in 2011 and has since been used for camping holidays every summer. It is equipped with the eminently desirable fuel injected 2-litre ‘pancake’ engine which provides this Volkswagen with ample power to keep up with most modern traffic. The 5 berth interior has been refitted at some point and now has vinyl upholstery colour-coded to the exterior.

- Looks to be in good order underneath with minimal surface rust
- The hubcaps are in good condition although there is some corrosion to the beauty rings
- Vented windows and a heated rear window
- The vendor informs us that the front wheel arches have been replaced
- There is a spare wheel fitted to the front
- The painted bumpers appear free from damage or corrosion
The Mechanics

- The front axle and steering box have been replaced
- A new ECU was fitted in April 2022
