The current owner acquired this particular vehicle as an almost finished project back in May of this year. It was imported from California in 2018 by the previous owner and had a full respray and a few other items replaced shortly after arriving in the UK.
This owner then ran out of steam and the current owner took it on and finished it. Now that its finished, it's time to find it’s forever home.
The V5 and a number of recent invoices are present unfortunately the service history was misplaced when the car last changed hands.IMG_2870.JPG3.59 MB
The Interior
The car benefits from a sportier aftermarket bucket seat fitted as a drivers seat which offers more support when conducting spirited driving. The originals are a particular failure point on this model so its worthy addition. The seats are all trimmed in cream leather as per factory spec and the lambswool overmats/carpets are in good original condition.
There are manual window winders and everything electrical in the cockpit works.
The dash wood veneer does have some cracks in it and could do with repair/replacement in the future if the new owner so wishes.IMG_2100.JPG3.41 MB
The Exterior
The car was imported in 2018 from a dry State California and was given a full respray due to paint fade in its original factory colour of metal flake brown. It is understood that it didn’t need welding.
The wheels are in good condition and had 4 new tyres earlier this year.
The convertible hood is in decent condition although it seems to have been stored in the folded position which has led to the plastic rear window having gone brittle and sadly cracked.
The car drives and sounds well helped no end by a straight through exhaust (no cat).
It’s the fuel injection model and whilst tuning on these is not really the done thing but it does get down the road nicely with the mods it does have.
It has a 4 branch manifold, unrestricted exhaust, uprated drilled discs, braided hoses and a cone filter.
It has had a new distributor, cambelt and service and starts on the button.IMG_2135.JPG4.2 MB
The Appeal
The Fiat 124 is known for its lightweight nimble handling and stylish good looks. It's as Italian as you can get in terms of styling with beauty bestowed on it from every angle.
If you're going to own one, one that’s had all the hard work done for you is an ideal purchase and with a full respray and handling mods under its belt this could well be the ideal candidate.
Metal Flake brown over cream is a combo that is definitely back in fashion and who could turn down a Sunday B road blast in a stylish Italian sports car.
