The Appeal
The R65 is one of BMW's most distinctive airhead motorcycles of the early 1980s, combining the reliable boxer engine with sportier styling and handling characteristics. There was a generous dose of futurism to the mount thanks to the pen of Hans Muth, and some forty years later, it still feels remarkably timeless.
This particular 1983 example has been transformed into a cafe racer by the respected Untitled Motorcycles of North London in 2023. The comprehensive rebuild has retained the bike's classic character while enhancing its aesthetics and performance with carefully selected components from premium suppliers like Motogadget and Down and Out Customs. The result is an R65 not quite like any other, and we're sure it'll garner plenty of interest at auction.
