APPEAL
The fifth generation Civic with its attractive wedge-shaped design is definitely a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Coming in a variety of models, this one is the most powerful with its rather special 1.6L DOHC VTEC engine. At 5000rpm, you’ll feel a surge of power as the engine comes alive and the valves open fully to provide a very different driving experience, propelling it from 0-60 in an impressive 6.8 seconds, and a top speed 135mph.
Originally purchased from Wyndham Honda Cardiff as an ex-demonstration car, the current owner, a mechanic, has kept the car in his family apart from when he sold it to the local bank managers wife and subsequently bought it back again. It was also sold to his son and then re-acquired, so while the V5c does show five former keepers, the vendor accounts for two of them. Being such a reliable little runner, its one he’s been reluctant to let go of it until now due to a change in circumstances.
Judging by the low chassis number and year of registration, the vendor believes this is one of the first that arrived in the country from Japan.
