The Appeal
If your interest in campers is more about practicality and versatility than retro style then you want a T4. These front-engined vans catapulted VW’s camper into the modern era and are highly regarded in ‘van life’ culture for their reliability and usability.
Few T4s, we suspect, are as good as this one. It is a rare Autosleeper Talent conversion and has covered less than 29,000 miles in its 29 years. Based on the SWB T4, the Talent specification makes very clever use of the available space, featuring a toilet, cooker, fridge, four seats in a ‘lounge’ arrangement and choice of bed settings. As you can see in the photos, the work was done to a high standard.
The vendor bought this 2.5L 5cyl petrol engined automatic T4 in 2004 and has clearly cherished that. The care shines out from the photos of a really well preserved camper, but is also evident in the history file. This van has been back to the VW main dealers for servicing throughout its life, irrespective of the paltry mileage. The last service was in August 2025 since when it has covered less than 200 miles.
Well specified, beautifully maintained and preserved, this high specification camper is ready for a buyer who can equally cherish it and take it on new adventures.
The vendor says:
“This Talent van was always driven by my late husband, (who passed away late March 2026), with myself (his Wife) as passenger. My husband always absolutely loved driving the van, which he always described as "a joy"! This is a very reluctant sale of a beautiful example of the VW T4 Talent with incredibly low mileage as I personally am unable to drive it. With the condition, low mileage, service history and 2 owners it makes this particular vehicle almost unique!”
