The Appeal
As Lexus’ first foray into the convertible market, the SC430 boasted quite some technical innovations in terms of its folding steel roof, allowing the car to be both a robust, steel-topped coupe and, at the press of a button, an open roadster. Retaining all of its saloon siblings’ build quality, the model also boasted a 4.3-litre V8 tuned for swift and sporty touring.
An acquired taste to some, the model has remained an comparatively rare and individual convertible with a loyal following.

Summary
The SC430 has gained a devoted following amongst owners who know it to be distinctive, versatile and reliable. They are an easy to live with car, inheriting all of that Toyota robustness and reliability alongside Lexus exclusivity. It would be hard to find a nicer or better kept example than this one.
